Distance Education

The University Libraries offer distance services to faculty who teach:

  • online
  • at WCU Center City
  • at the Graduate Center
  • at the Exton Center

This is an overview of our services, if you have any questions please contact Danielle Skaggs, eLearning and Outreach Librarian.

Get Materials Sent to You

We are happy to:

  • mail books and DVDs to you.
  • scan articles available only in print and book chapters.

Place your request via ILLiad; please specify where you want the material sent in the Notes field.

Syllabus Statement on Accessing Library Resources

Here's a sample syllabus statement on accessing library resources for your distance students. It also satisfies item F of the WCU Distance Education Course Proposal Required Checklist if you are preparing a DE class for CAPC.

The WCU Libraries’ electronic resources and research assistance services are readily accessible to you at a distance from the library’s website: https://library.wcupa.edu. For information on getting physical materials sent to you, and other services and support for distance education students see https://library.wcupa.edu/distance.

Library Instruction for Distance Education Classes

Would your students benefit from library instruction to help with their research assignments? We can help.

  • If your class meets in person at any of our branch campuses, we can come to your classroom.
  • If your class meets asynchronously or is a hybrid class, we can put together a tutorial and/or instructional guide (example) for your class.

Please contact Danielle Skaggs, dskaggs@wcupa.edu or 610-436-2401, to get started.
