Disability Access

WCU Accessibility Map, North Campus, 2011

This map details accessible parking, building access, and other improvements to the campus. It can be studied as a measure of progress and shortcomings at the time of its creation.

Overview

Disability access at West Chester University can see its beginnings in 1980s, though the largest component of disability access did not occur until the Americans with Disabilities Act was passed in 1990. In the years since, disability access has not only seen a huge increase at West Chester University through both braille inclusion and mobility accessible buildings, but also through the United states as a whole.
