Interlibrary Loan

Can't find the full-text of an article?  Submit an ILLiad request through Interlibrary Loan.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service through which materials not owned by the Library may be requested from other libraries. Before requesting material, search the library's catalog to make sure we does not own or have electronic access to what you want.

Finding Articles

Remember to narrow your search by:

  • Choosing Peer Reviewed under the Limit To header (you may have to click on More options to see this check box)
  • Under Limit by Source Type, choose Academic Journals

To see article abstracts on the results page, go to Page Options and choose Detailed under Result Format.

We also have a video tutorial that covers the basics of using Library Search:

What's An Empirical Article?

  • Original research articles based on experience and observation (i.e. surveys, scientific experiments, research studies).
  • Published in scholarly, peer-reviewed journals.
  • Parts of an empirical article include: Abstract, Introduction, Method, Results, Discussion, and References.
  • Features quantitative or qualitative data.
  • Usually long articles with a lengthy bibliography.

Picking Your Topic

Pick a topic related to the Poverty Simulation and Advocacy Project issue you identified, or something that connects to one of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (linked below).
