Are there restrictions on what I can request through ILL?

In general, we can't get you:

  • Textbooks required for current WCU courses
  • Books published within the last 12 months
  • Certain video, CD, DVD, and microfiche/microfilm materials
  • Certain dissertations/theses

How do I get the book or article I requested through ILL?

You will receive an email letting you know when your material is ready. Articles, book chapters, and other shorter material are usually delivered online. You will pick up books at the Circulation desk on the 2nd floor of FHG Library.

Where do I return my ILL book?

You bring it back to the Circulation desk on the 2nd floor of FHG Library, unless you are distance student.

What happens if I’m late returning my ILL book?

WCU Libraries does not charge any fines for ILL books. However, the university that owns the book you borrowed may charge you a fine.

What happens if I lose my ILL book?

We won’t charge you for it, but the university that owns it will charge a replacement fee. You may be able to buy a replacement copy instead, but the lending university must approve it. Since it’s so variable, please give us a call or send us an email to discuss what you can do at this point.

What’s the difference between E-Z Borrow and ILLiad?

  • E-Z Borrow is for books only. Your book will be available in 2-3 days and you will have it for 60 days (no renewals).
  • ILLiad is for all types of materials; articles and book chapters will generally be available in 2-3 days. Books can take from 3-10 days, and you will usually have them for 28 days (it varies, and renewals are sometimes possible).
