WCU University Libraries Continuity Plan

Getting Materials from WCU Libraries

How do I access resources off-campus?

You can access almost all of our online resources from off-campus. If you're having difficulty, follow the instructions on our Distance Education page. This video will show you how to access resources off-campus:

Can I still get books from WCU Libraries?

Yes! For your safety, our stacks will be closed but you can request what you need and we will retrieve it from the shelves for you. You can request books and other physical items through the library catalog. When you find an item you want to request, log in, choose the Request option, and select your pick up location. You can choose to pick up your requests at FHG or Presser Music Library or you can choose to have it mailed to your home address. If you choose the Home Delivery option, please include your mailing address in the notes. Please allow 24-48 hours for us to process your request. You will receive email updates on the status of your requests. Mail delivery time for physical items is approximately to be 3-5 days. Please contact us if you need assistance.

This video will show you how to place a request:

Can I get an article or book chapter from something the Libraries has in Print?

Yes! We are able to scan book chapters and articles from print journals that we have locally available. For your safety, our stacks will be closed but you can request what you need and we will retrieve it from the shelves and scan it for you. Please place a request through Interlibrary Loan and allow 24-48 hours for processing.

How do I access reserve materials?

Any Electronic Reserves materials will still be available through D2L. Your professor may add these into your classes in the coming weeks.

Getting Materials from Other Libraries

Can I still use Interlibrary Loan and EZBorrow?

Yes! EZBorrow is available to request books that are not available in our library.

ILLiad can be used for Article and Book Chapter requests as well as for books that are not available in our library or through EZBorrow.

If you request print material, you have the option to either pick them up at the library or have them mailed to your home address. During times when the Libraries' physical spaces are closed, all items will be mailed to your home address. Please note that requests for print material from other libraries may take longer to process.

Returning Materials

How do I return my books?

Materials can be returned two ways:

  • Return your materials at one of our libraries. You can return materials in the two drop boxes at the main entrance of Francis Harvey Green Library or the one just inside the entrance to the Music Building, closest to High Street. These will be checked daily.
  • Mail your materials to us. A pre-paid return mailing label will be included with materials that are mailed to your home. If you need a return mailing label, please email us at illoan@wcupa.edu and we will send one to you.

To avoid potential damage to equipment, please do not return these items in the drop boxes. Please email us at libcirc@wcupa.edu to coordinate returning equipment or if you have any other questions. There will be no penalties for overdue items.

Please allow up to one week for returned items to be cleared from your account. All returned materials will be quarantined for up to 7 days as a safety precaution.
