How do I return my books?
Materials can be returned when University Libraries reopen. You may also return materials now in the two drop boxes at the main entrance of Francis Harvey Green Library or the one just inside the entrance to the Swope Music Building, closest to High Street. These will be checked regularly. To avoid potential damage to equipment, please do not return these items in the drop boxes. There will be no penalties for overdue items. A pre-paid return mailing label will be included with materials that are mailed to your home during the closure. If you are not returning to campus and have material that you borrowed before our physical spaces closed, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to receive a pre-paid return mailing label.
Can I still use Interlibrary Loan or EZ-Borrow?
Interlibrary Loan can still be used for Article and Book Chapter requests, however it might take longer to process these requests. If you request a print item from Interlibrary Loan, these will be mailed to your permanent address with a UPS return-label. Delivery time for physical items is expected to be 3-5 days, however this is subject to change.
Requests through EZBorrow have been suspended for the time-being. We will update this page when the service resumes.
I put materials on reserve for my classes. Are those still available?
If you placed anything on e-reserves, they will still be available to your students through D2L. If you had materials on physical reserves and would like to make some of that material available, we will scan some chapters for students within copyright laws. To request us to scan current physical reserves or place new items on e-reserves, please submit the request through our Interlibrary Loan page with "ereserves request" in the "additional information" section of the form.
Can I still get books from the WCU Libraries?
You can request books and other physical items to be mailed to you through the library catalog. When you find an item you want to request, log in, choose the Request option, and select Home Delivery. Include your mailing address in the notes. Delivery time for physical items is expected to be 3-5 days, however this is subject to change. Please contact us if you need assistance.
Can I get a chapter or journal article from something the Libraries has in print?
Yes! We are able to scan book chapters and articles from print journals that we have locally available. Please place a request through Interlibrary Loan.
How do I access resources off-campus?
You can access almost all of our online resources from off-campus. If you're having difficulty, follow the instructions on our Distance Education page.
How do I get librarian support for my online classes?
Reach out to your librarian to discuss the various options we can provide for online research support for your classes.
