Citing Sources

Chicago is a citation style that is widely used in the humanities, arts, and history.  Turabian is a modified form of Chicago style aimed at students.

Both Chicago and Turabian include two different citation systems:

  • the Notes-Bibliography system (which uses endnotes or footnotes)
  • the Parenthetical Citation system (which uses in-text citations).
